SIGGRAPH 2014: "Oscars of computer graphics" is innovators' chance to shine
Vancouver Sun: Digital Life
SIGGRAPH 2014: For Marcelo Zuffo, getting the opportunity to showcase technology at SIGGRAPH is akin to going to the Oscars. Zuffo, a professor at the University of Sao Paulo, is among 15,000 delegates in Vancouver for SIGGRAPH (Special Interest Group on GRAPHICS and Interactive Techniques), the world's pre-eminent computer graphics conference. He is involved with a network of researchers that includes Sidney Fels, a University of B.C. professor and director of the school's Media and Graphics Interdisciplinary Centre (MAGIC) that created Spheree, a spherical display that delivers holograph-like 3D interactive images and was chosen by SIGGRAPH to be highlighted in its emerging technologies display.
